Need to Lose Weight For Your Employee Wellness Program?

Employee Wellness Programs

Some of our patients at Olivera Weight Management are telling us that they need to lose weight for their company’s employee wellness program. For many, this is very awkward or uncomfortable. It might feel like your boss is peeking at your scale, or telling you to exercise more.

More and more, employers are using financial incentives (the carrot) and penalties (the stick) to encourage employees to participate in wellness programs, including asking employees to quit smoking or to lose weight. The company often says your insurance premiums will cost more if you don’t participate in their wellness program.

If you are one of those people wanting to lose weight, the Olivera weight loss program can help you achieve your goals. We can also document your weight loss if you need that information for your employee wellness program.

A recent study by The RAND Corporation entitled Workplace Wellness Programs Study indicates that the trend toward wellness programs is likely to continue, and worse, that our healthcare bills may continue to rise for some time.

This is a BIG problem for all of us, both employees AND employers. For employees, much of our hard-earned money pays for large health insurance premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. And many of our out-of-pocket medical expenses are not even covered under our health insurance plan.

Companies are also suffering. These skyrocketing healthcare costs not only affect the employees’ pockets, but also the company’s bottom line. And when a company sees its bottom line shrinking, it might need to cut back, or decide not to give you a raise, or worse, need to reduce its workforce.

At Olivera, we don’t have the answers to our country’s rising healthcare costs. But we do know it will take EVERYONE to work together to find reasonable and caring solutions to these issues, because that’s the only way it will get resolved.

We want EVERYONE to think about getting healthier, not because your company wants you to, but for YOURSELF, and for YOUR FAMILY. At Olivera Weight Loss we want you to have a happier and more fulfilling life, and we know that eating a healthier diet and living a healthier lifestyle is directly related to your happiness and fulfillment.

We’d like to help you with your weight loss goals, and help you achieve a healthier diet and lifestyle. Give us a call or stop by. Our friendly staff truly cares about you.
